About Living Womb Ceremonies

Iya Amoké is the leading light, and the Elder of a group of women whose talents lie in all manner of healing modalities. The focus of this group, and this business is to take those talents and share them with the community as a whole. We strive to support the transformation and healing of those individuals around us, in order that we may support the transformation and healing of our communities.

We urge you to read our mission statement to learn more about our purpose and focus.

For too long our communities have lain broken and dysfunctional, while our individual spirits have cried out for support and help. Each of us have been lost without a hand to guide, or a shoulder to cry upon. When we come together and support each other, irrespective of race, gender, or sexual inclination, honoring each other's past and cultural heritage, it is then that we can start healing our communities.

A healthy community supports the raising of healthy children, supports the fulfillment of potential within every person, and forms a strong united force that protects us against those who would abuse or degrade those within the community.

You don't have to be alone anymore. You no longer have to deny those parts of yourself that have lain dormant or that you have repressed because it was "not appropriate" or especially "not ladylike". Let us help you to celebrate your life changes, let us help you to transform and to give birth to yourself.

We can work together

We don't take your power away from you in order to help you to heal. For too long healing has been taken out of your hands, and has become something done TO you - rather than with you. We share with you our power, and assist you to find your own.

It is only together that we can create sustainable global communities!

A Note from Iya Amoké

My consciousness is the bridge of two worlds. It survived the abductions and rapes of Africa. This consciousness was tenacious through the Middle Passage. It strategically survived the horrors of slavery. This consciousness continues to cross today's contemporary deep waters - fighting all that dehumanizes others, with success! Adupe O! (I give thanks).

As a priestess, my first duties are to the Universal energies known as the Orisas, to the Egungun (Honored Ancestors), and my Ori (divine consciousness). As an Iyanifa, my duties are a continuous learning of the teachings of Orunmila (prophet) through Ifa (the spiritual principals), as first handed down orally through generations of Babalawos and Iyanifas, and always homage to Oludumare (God). I offer this wisdom to you, for growth, healing and transformation.
